Community Dispute Resolution (CDR) refers to the settlement of disputes out of the courts and aligned with existing laws. It provides an alternative to the judicial system and facilitates collaborative community relationships. The end goal of a dispute resolution process is to offer a fair way for everyone involved in a complaint or dispute to deal with it.

Who can Apply for CDR

Community Dispute Resolution (CDR) is a nonprofit agency open to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. CDR programs are a benefit both to their clients and to the communities that house them. It provides a free (to the client) or low-cost way of resolving disputes so that they do not escalate and cause more serious problems. CDR prevents most disputes from going to the overloaded court systems. They also often provide high-quality mediation training for people who are interested. Because their benefits are so high and their costs so low.
